Product Introduction
pellet mill, also known as a pellet press, is a type of mill or machine press used to create pellets from powdered material. Pellet mills are unlike grinding mills, in that they combine small materials into a larger, homogeneous mass, rather than break large materials into smaller pieces.
 
Pelletizing or making pellets is the process of using organic material such as corn stalks, corn cobs, grass, leaves, bean stubble, switch grass, straw, dry distillers grain (DDG), seed hulls, alfalfa, cardboard, saw dust and paper and putting them through a pellet mill to form pellets. These pellets are then used for burning as fuel in pellet stoves or furnaces or used as animal feed and animal bedding. There are multiple uses for pellets.
 
1.Biomass pellet machine , also known as rice husk pellet mill, sawdust pellet mill,saw powder pellet mill, which can make rice husk into granular.
2.There are two kinds of biomass pellet machine . One is efficient centrifugal pellet mill, the other is flat die pellet mill. The first one is mainly designed for agriculture waste such as cron stalk, straw, wood and straw dust.

Working principle of vertical ring die pellet mill
The material into the granulating room, the mold rotating and roller rotation itself . so that the material extruded into the mold hole, made into a cylindrical bar, after a knife cutting at the outlet, when pellet formed , they get out of the granulation chamber.

Usage of ZLG Series vertical ring die pellet mill
The ZLG series vertical ring die pellet making machines is widely used in biomass-energy fuels plant, power plant, wood processing plant,fertilizer plant, chemical plant etc. 
 

The complete pellet making production line as follows:

Step1:Crushing

1) Before raw materials are made into biomass pellets of pellet machine, they are firstly reduced into smaller, uniform- sized particles. When the thickness is larger than 6 mm or size is greater than 50*50 mm, a pellet machine is needed to chip these materials into smaller pieces.

Step2:Drying

2) After all the raw material of pellet machine are crushed, dryer will be needed since for the most raw materials have the moisture content of about 50%.However, in general the optimal moisture content for pelletiztion is 10%-15%. Therefore, a rotary dryer is included in the pellet machine to reduce the moisture content.

Step3:Pelletizing

3) After crushing and drying all the raw materials properly, it is ready for the pellet machine. The pellet machine or press is the key piece of machine in the pellet plant. Pellet machine should be mentioned that impurities for the raw materials just like metal or stone, may damage the die and rollers of pellet machine.

Step4:Cooling

4) Usually after pelletizing, the temperature of pellet can reach almost 60-80 degrees, and also the moisture content is close to 15%. For storage purposes, a cooler must be used to reduce the surface temperature and moisture content.

Step5:Packing

5) Finally is the packing process of pellet making line. Inorder to protect the pellets from getting damaged and to increase storability, proper packing is necessary.

raw materials such as wheat straw, ice husk, corn straw,sorghum, peanut straw, soybean straw , alfalfa straw and cotton stalk are also widely used in pellets processing.

Most of agricultural and forestry waste can be used to make pellets, such as corn straw, sawdust, plant waste, bamboo powder, grass, sunflower stalk, straw, rice
husk, wood chips, dry branches etc.
 
Big material should be crushed at first, and its size after crushing should be no more than 2/3 diameter of pellets.
 
Advantages of pellets
1. High burning rate. 
2. Easy to be transported.
3. Regular geometry and small size allow automatic feeding with very fine calibration. They can be fed to a burner by auger feeding or by pneumatic conveying. 
4. Their high density also permits compact storage and rational transport over long distance. They can be conveniently blown from a tanker to a storage bunker or silo on a customer's premises.
